Google Pixel 9a spotted on certification site ahead of launch

Google Pixel 9a, the successor to the Pixel 8a model, was recently spotted on a certification website, hinting at its imminent launch.

This mid-range smartphone is expected to be powered by Google's Tensor G4 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.

Google Pixel 9a appears on EMVCo certification website

According to a listing on the EMVCo certification website, the Google Pixel 9a has the model number GTF7P.

Although the listing doesn't mention the handset's name, it confirmed that it will run on Android 15.

Earlier, reports suggested that the Pixel 9a would launch in March, before Google's annual I/O event scheduled in May, making it the earliest release in the Pixel A-series lineup.

The Google Pixel 9a is expected to sport a 6.3-inch display with 2,700nits peak brightness and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The Pixel 9a smartphone will feature a 48MP primary and a 13MP ultrawide camera. The device is also rumoured to be backed by a 5,100mAh battery with 23W wired and 7.5W wireless charging.
