The Samsung Galaxy S25 has started receiving its first software update to fix important bugs and bring security improvements. The update, AYB3 firmware, is currently rolling out in South Korea and will expand to other regions soon.

This new update brings several fixes in notice including the smartphone’s charging, calls, and camera performance, addressing some issues reported earlier by users. An additional security patch of February 2025 has also been upgraded which will keep the Galaxy S25 secure from potential threats.

Samsung Galaxy S25 software update

Samsung’s new flagship lineup has introduced several advancements, including enhanced AI features, improved camera sensors and faster performance, over the Galaxy S24 series. However, some users still faced minor bugs since the launch which prompted the company to roll out this update.

The AYB3 firmware update is around 585MB in size, and it mainly focuses on bug fixes rather than introducing new features. Samsung’s release notes for the update, however, touched upon improvements to charging stability, call performance, and camera functions.

Moreover, some Galaxy S25 owners have reported issues with nighttime photos, so this update may address those concerns.

How to check for new Samsung Galaxy S25 update?

To check if the update is available on your device:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click on the Software update option
  3. Then go to the Download and Install option to see the updates

Note: If the update is not available, it should roll out in the coming days.

The Galaxy S25's major feature is its support for updates, a first for Samsung’s flagship phones. Once the firmware is downloaded, it installs in the background, requiring only a quick reboot to complete the process.
