Pakistan's recognition as the official Tech Destination of the Year and Huawei's showcase of innovative security solutions stole the spotlight.
Pakistan at GITEX Global 2024
Pakistan made an exceptional impression at GITEX Global 2024 when the Pakistan Pavilion and Pakistan Night were inaugurated.
According to Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) Chairman Sajjad Mustafa Syed, the recognition of the IT industry of Pakistan has cemented the "Official Tech Destination of the Year" status, as declared by GITEX Global. It is bound to spur exponential growth in exports in the segments of IT and ITeS.
Huawei's cybersecurity solutions
In the GITEX Global 2024, Huawei strengthened its front-runner position in end-to-end cybersecurity solutions by demonstrating several capabilities and offers in cybersecurity.
Xinghe Intelligent Network Security and Xinghe Intelligent SASE Solution presented cloud, network, edge, and endpoint protection capabilities from the company.
The Huawei Cloud offers a safe digital space offering seven layers of defence. Its OceanProtect Backup Storage would provide six layers of ransomware protection that can generate three to five times higher backup and recovery performance.

Huawei Middle East & Central Asia chief security officer Aloysius Cheang noted: "Huawei's intelligent security solutions enable industries to securely embrace the intelligence era." P@SHA Senior Vice Chairman Muhammad Umair Nizam highlighted the significance of Pakistan Night, stating that "it reinforced strong ties between Pakistan and UAE in various tech sectors."
Eighty Pakistani companies are currently participating in GITEX Global 2024, with the country displaying a variety of high-tech sub-sectors, as well as associated industries. This exposure will help attract more international partnerships, investments, and talents for Pakistan's IT sector.
With the accelerating pace of digital transformation, more sophisticated cybersecurity threats are arising; however; Pakistan's emerging IT sector and Huawei's innovative security solutions are set to set such new challenges aside.
