Google has taken its globally acclaimed Google I/O 2025 to the second and last day, and in line with earlier expectations, Google resorted not to gradual but a dramatic burst of a slew of announcements, all giving us a closer look at what Google has been working on since last the previous Google I/O.
The search engine giant released enhanced Gemini integration for Chrome users under a new AI mode, including those using subscription plans and the Beta, Dev, and Canary tracks.
As Gemini Live does on phones, this feature offers summarisation, research, and chat based on screen content. Google also is enhancing AI interactions in Search.
Google I/O 2025: Google Flow explained
Google Flow, a new tool, has been designed to improve Imagen 4 and Veo 3, allowing users to create and edit AI video clips using simple text prompts with consistency between scenes. It includes camera controls and is part of Gemini AI Ultra.
Imagen 4 offers more detailed image generation, while Veo 3 improves sound effects and understanding of physics, both available under the AI Pro plan alongside Google's Synth ID for AI detection.
Google Beam features announced at Google I/O 2025
Previously known as Project Starline, Google Beam is an upgraded 3D videoconferencing tool integrated with AI.
It uses six cameras to capture an object from all angles, tracking its movements and composing a video at 60 frames per second.
Having advanced expertise in large-scale 3D scanning, Google has partnered with HP on this project.
Google I/O 2025: Gemini's Workspace integration
As a result of this year's Google I/O, Gemini will now be more deeply integrated into Workspace, offering personalised smart replies in Gmail, real-time speech translation in Google Meet, and research-based, enhanced writing in Docs.
The new Vids app allows users to create short videos using slides, voice input, and AI editing. These features would convert Google Workspace into a productivity suite enabling faster communication to better focus on important tasks.
