Google Meet, a versatile tool for both personal and professional use, recently introduced a new feature named Dual Screen that will let users utilise both selfie cameras during video chats. Notably, Google has made this feature exclusive to its recently unveiled Pixel 9 Pro Fold device.
Dual Screen feature on Pixel 9 Pro Fold
The Alphabet-owned company announced this new Dual Screen feature in its latest Workspace blog post, showcasing how it would enhance users’ video calling experience.
With the integration of Dual Screen, Pixel 9 Pro Fold users can keep both the inner and outer screens active during video conferencing, making calls more engaging.

The feature does not utilise the Pixel 9 Pro Fold's rear camera, instead, it depends completely on the front cameras present on the cover display and the inner screen.
How Dual Screen feature work?
Taking to its support page, the tech giant also explained how the Dual Screen feature will work on Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The Dual camera icon will appear on the floating self-view window, with the controls available within the Google Meet call.
When a user enables the dual camera feature, it would automatically enable the Dual Display. However, users will have the option only to use the Dual Camera and disable the Dual Display.
While other foldable smartphones, including Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, and OnePlus Open possess a similar arrangement of selfie cameras it’s unclear whether Google will make it available on these devices also or keep it exclusive to its Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Alongside this Dual Screen feature, the company rolled out the Meet Add-ons SDK for Google’s web version that will enable third-party developers to create custom experience for video calling and is also working on updates related to Google Chat and Sheets.
