Google unveiled the Pixel 9 Pro Fold smartphone recently, marking its second attempt at a foldable phone. The handset was officially released on September 4 including several innovative features and upgrades that already gained audience attention.
While capturing children’s pictures is quite a difficult task for parents, Google has brought a solution to capture kids' smiles with the latest “Made You Look” upgrade that uses eye-catching visuals to grab kids' attention and make them smile for the picture.

What is "Made You Look" feature?
Google revealed at the “Made by Google” event that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold would be the only device with the latest “Made You Look” feature.
The feature is powered by machine learning, which detects when someone glances toward the outer screen. In this way, the animation changes into a flashier display, with more colours appearing and movement designed to hold kids’ attention.
When a colourful animation appears next to the triple camera module on the back, it catches the child's eye and makes them smile at the camera.
The feature also includes lively animation featuring cartoon characters, each with different personalities and sound effects. However, the tech giant also plans to integrate licensed characters in future updates.
Currently, “Made You Look” features “Joy,” a character from Pixar's Inside Out series on Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Here's how to use "Made You Look"
- Launch the camera app on your Pixel 9 Pro Fold smartphone.
- Now, tap the button above the camera shutter to access camera features.
- Next, select the “Made You Look” feature. This will notify that the dual-screen mode is active.
- Then, browse through the animation options available and choose one that you think would catch your child's attention.
Google is yet to decide to introduce this feature to older Pixel devices including the original Pixel Fold through future software updates.
