Google, the Alphabet-owned company, is expected to launch a successor to the Google Pixel Fold with a different name. A claim that emerged from the rumour mill suggests that the top-tier Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is likely to be released in August.
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold specs (expected)
Shortly, its name will be confirmed whether it is the Pixel Fold 2 or the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and it is expected to bring a few significant enhancements that are briefly discussed below:
The recent report suggested the Pixel 9 Pro Fold would be slightly different in terms of display as compared to its predecessor.
Google is planning to slim down the cover display and the interior display would also adopt more of a squarish aspect ratio with a larger display of 6.29 inches on the outside and 8.02 inches on the inside than the other tech giant’s foldable phones.
Moreover, leaked pictures suggested a huge change in the camera, as Google has been following a trend of horizontal camera bars since the launch of the Pixel 6. But the upcoming Pixel 9 Pro Fold is tipped to consist of a smaller and wider camera bump in the top-right corner with four lenses assembled together.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold performance
Pixel 9 Pro Fold is expected to be equipped with the same Tensor G4 chipset available in its predecessor.
However, rumours are swirling about the integration of the G4 chip based on Samsung’s Exynos 2400, which would provide enhanced computing power along with artificial intelligence (AI) features.
Moreover, it is expected to experience a potential increase to 16GB RAM, offering greater power efficiency.
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold camera
As mentioned earlier, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold would consist of a four-camera lens. Unfortunately, it doesn’t meet the user’s expectations in terms of camera quality as it is tipped to feature a 48MP main lens, a 10.8MP ultrawide and a 10.8MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom. The ultra-wide camera is reportedly to be upgraded.
However, the Alphabet-owned company is expected to follow its monopoly of integrating an AI camera feature of the Pixel lineup in Pixel 9 Pro Fold, with great editing tools which would turn a distorted and low-resolution image into a masterpiece.
