Honda Atlas definitely stepped into the limelight with its recent Aspire S launch in Pakistan, but not in the way it might have expected.
The renowned car-maker recently debuted the new Honda City 1.5L Aspire S in the Pakistani market, and ended by drawing backlash from car enthusiasts and industry experts.
While fans have already expressed dissatisfaction over what they describe as insufficient updates, critics on social media argued that introducing another facelift of the 6th-generation Honda City is a step backwards, as the 7th generation has been available globally for years.
Some even labelled it the “last day of Honda in Pakistan,” suggesting the company failed to live up to customer expectations.
Experts like Suneel Sarfraz Munj from PakWheels also expressed their discontent over Honda’s strategy, stating that the company is merely repackaging minor updates instead of delivering innovation in its true spirit.
This outrage signifies a growing trust deficit among Pakistani car buyers, who are increasingly comparing local offerings to global standards.
Key features of Honda City Aspire S
The latest Aspire S features a range of cosmetic updates, with Canyon River Blue and Ignite Red being the two new colour options on the company's flagship Honda City lineup.
The vehicle also comes with a black trunk spoiler with an LED stop lamp, dark-finish alloy wheels, a black shark fin antenna, and black side mirrors.
Under the hood, it offers a baseball-stitched leather steering wheel, a matching gear knob, redesigned seats, and an improved audio system with additional tweeters.
Safety features on the new include ABS, EBD, and an ESP 9.3 modulator. Priced at PKR 6,149,000, bookings are now open at dealerships.
