If you're seeking ways to enhance your experience on the platform, don't worry, Facebook has officially launched several new features, powered by MetaAI that make it easier and more fun to express yourself in your profile picture, photos, Feed posts, and Stories.
The company, in a blog post, said: "You can now animate your profile picture, turning a still photo into a playful animation in seconds. Choose from preset animations — like natural, party hat, confetti, wave, and heart — to bring your profile picture to life depending on how you’re feeling.
"We’ll add more animation options throughout the year so you can celebrate and express yourself during seasonal moments and special events."
Here's how you can animate your profile picture on Facebook
Here's a simple guide to animate the profile picture on Facebook:
- Log in your ID on the Facebook app
- Go to your profile
- Then, tap your profile picture in the Facebook app.
- Look for an option to "turn it into an animation" or a similar AI prompt.
- You can easily select from preset animations like Natural, Party Hat, Confetti, Wave, or Heart.
- Once the AI processes the movement, you can set it as your profile picture and optionally share the animation to your Feed.
It is important to note that for best outcomes, Facebook suggests using a clear image of a single person facing the camera. Users can upload photos from their camera roll or choose existing images already shared on Facebook.
Restyle your Facebook Stories or Memories
Facebook further added that users can also restyle their Stories or Memories by tapping on the Restyle button and either type out the changes they want Meta’s AI to make to the photo or pick from Meta’s pre-set options, like “anime” or “low-poly”.
Moreover, if you want to spice up text posts, Facebook has released animated backgrounds. By clicking on the new rainbow “A” icon, users can choose from a variety of still and animated scenes, such as falling leaves or rolling ocean waves, to make their posts stand out in the feed. The company says that seasonal backgrounds are coming soon.
With around 2.1 billion daily active users, Facebook remains a social media giant. However, in recent years, it has struggled to attract and retain a younger demographic.
