How to update phone number on Google account
If you handle multiple accounts or have moved to a new country, don't worry, because the company allows you to easily update your phone number, which is used for account security and recovery.
- You have to go to 'myaccount.google.com' and sign in or open the Gmail app.
- On Gmail, tap your profile photo and choose 'Manage your Google Account'.
- Then, you will select the 'Personal info' tab from the side menu.
- Navigate to 'Contact info' and then 'Phone number'.
- Tap on your phone number displayed on the site and tap the edit icon.
- Verify your password and device, and click 'Next'.
- Enter the new phone number.
- Google will send a verification code via SMS.
- Enter the code to finish the verification.
Once updated, the new phone number will be displayed for account recovery and verification. It should be noted that users can also delete the old number by selecting the 'Delete' option next to it to avoid confusion and security risks.
