With the launch of iOS 26.1, Apple has advanced how you dismiss iPhone alarms, and morning muscle memory may have needed tweaking as a result.
In iOS 26.1, the Clock app now needs a slide gesture to stop an alarm from the Lock Screen, replacing the older tap-to-stop button that was redesigned in iOS 26. Apple said that the change appears to let you avoid accidental dismissals when you're reaching for your iPhone in the morning.
Here's how you can bring back tap-to-stop alarm button?
As an iPhone user, you're less likely to silence your alarm when you meant to hit snooze; however, if you don't like the redesigned dismiss alarm option, you can revert the alarm interface to the older tap-to-stop alarm button by following this guide.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap Accessibility.
- Under "Physical and Motor," tap Touch.
- Swipe to the bottom of the menu and toggle on Prefer Single-Touch Actions.
You can easily bring back the slider option by toggling off Prefer Single-Touch Actions.
