Infinix launched the Smart 8 Plus in India on March 1, featuring an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity chipset and a sizable battery. The phone boasts AI-powered dual rear cameras and the Magic Ring feature from the company.
The smartphone runs on an Android 13 Go Edition-based user interface. It joins the existing lineup of Infinix Smart 8 series models in the country, including the Infinix Smart 8 and Infinix Smart 8 HD.

The Infinix Smart 8 Plus sports a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and 500 nits peak brightness. It runs on a 12nm MediaTek Helio G36 SoC paired with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The RAM and storage can be expandable virtually up to an additional 4GB of RAM and externally via microSD card up to 2TB. The device operates on Android 13 Go Edition-based XOS 13.
The device is powered by a 6,000mAh battery with 18W wired fast charging support and includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, and USB Type-C. With dimensions measuring 163.6mm x 75.6mm x 8.5mm and weighing 189g, the handset offers a comprehensive set of features in its price range.

In terms of camera, the phone features a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an AI-backed secondary sensor alongside a quad-LED Ring Flash.
Additionally, it houses an 8-megapixel front camera with a centred hole-punch slot. The Infinix Smart 8 Plus also includes the Magic Ring feature, a collapsible pill-shaped animated bar for notifications, similar to Apple's Dynamic Island.
