Apple is all set to launch iPadOS 26, and it sounds like this will be the biggest update for iPad users so far. This new software gives the iPad a Mac-like experience with a true windowing system, a menu bar, and even the option to pin folders to the dock.

For many, this update will make the iPad feel more like a full computer than ever before.

iPadOS 26 update

Unlike some past updates, all iPads that will work with iPadOS 26 will get new multitasking and windowing features. There is no doubt that newer iPads will do better performance-wise for the iPadOS 26 update, but you won't need to update to an iPad Pro just to get the new features.

Apple iPad 11

One thing that makes the decision easy for buyers in Apple's iPad lineup. The iPad 11 is the cheapest option that still puts up a good performance with the A16 Bionic chip and 6GB RAM, which is enough to multitask and run iPadOS 26. The starting price for the 128GB model is just $299.

Apple iPad Air

For a little more power, the iPad Air will be a good option in the middle. It is equipped with the M3 chip, has a laminated display, is able to work with the Magic Keyboard, and comes in two sizes: 11-inch and 13-inch. The starting price is $449, which is a reasonably high option for iPads in the lineup.

iPad Pro

At the top end, the iPad Pro is Apple’s most premium tablet, featuring a stunning Tandem OLED display with ProMotion, M4 chip.
