Apple is set to launch the iPhone 16 series later this year, which is expected to be a stepping stone for major design and performance changes. While nothing transformative is anticipated with this upgrade, a few incremental changes are worth considering.
iPhone 16 upgrades
The camera layout is getting a vertical arrangement instead of the horizontal one found on the iPhone 15, and there's talk of an action button as well.
As for the camera modules, the company upgraded from a 12MP lens to a higher resolution of 48MP for improved photography, making significant changes to the standard model unlikely. However, the same cannot be said for the Pro models.

With performance as its focal point, the iPhone 16 will be powered by the all-new A18 Bionic chipset, while its predecessor used the 2022 A16 Bionic chipset. It is rumoured that the previous generation iPhone won't support Apple’s new Apple Intelligence, which is part of the company’s AI integration campaign.
On the battery front, the new iPhone is expected to have a larger battery, increasing from 3349mAh to 2341mAh. The iPhone 16 will be launched in September, though the official launch date is still uncertain. It's important to note that these specs are based on rumours.
iPhone 16 lineup
Launching this September, the iPhone 16 will bring significant changes to the iPhone lineup. Apple is expected to increase the size of the iPhone 16 Pro to 6.3 inches and the iPhone 16 Pro Max to 6.9 inches, marking the first size upgrade in several years.
These size changes will be limited to the iPhone 16 Pro models, with the iPhone 16 models staying the same size as the iPhone 15. While the iPhone 16 models won't get bigger, they will receive some minor design tweaks, such as extra buttons. However, for the most part, both the standard iPhone 16 models and the Pro models will look similar to the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro models.
