As the iPhone 16 series launch is inching closer, the rumour mill is on a roll, with a new rumour detailing the nitty-gritty of the latest iPhone series' camera capabilities.
As highlighted in a report from AppleInsider, all the iPhone 16 models are expected to receive significant software and hardware upgrades, but in light of the new rumour, the devices' camera features are apparently becoming the talk of the town.
Camera features of iPhone 16 and 16 Plus
The leak suggests that the iPhone 16's primary Wide lens will be the same as of the iPhone 15, featuring a 48MP camera, but the game is on a higher step when with the Ultra Wide, as it will have a wider f/2.2 aperture, unlike the iPhone 15's f/2.4.
The base iPhone 16 model is said to support Macro photography, a milestone Apple is going to attain for the first time in its entire iPhone history.
Camera features of iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max
As was the purported case of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, the primary wide lens of the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be similar to the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, boasting a 48MP camera).
The reminiscence does not stop here, as the Telephoto camera of the iPhone 16's Pro segment will also be 12MP with f/2.8 and 5x zoom, the same as of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The only aspect which seems to be immune to stagnation and receiving some notable enhancements is the Ultra Wide, as it's likely to feature a 48MP camera which can shoot at its full resolution or use the same 12MP “pixel binning” feature in place of the Wide camera to support deeper details and sensitivity in low-light.
Word has it that Apple for the first time is going to offer ProRAW format for iPhone 16's Ultra Wide camera.
