As Pakistan is struggling to get around the ongoing internet outages and social media disruptions, lawmakers are set to introduce a Digital Nation Pakistan bill in the National Assembly (NA).
Citing sources, Geo.tv noted that the bill is aimed at transforming the country into a fully digitised one, setting the stage to incorporate digitalisation into Pakistan's economy, society, and governance.
As part of the NA session's agenda, the bill will be tabled by the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja.
It's worth noting that the Digital Nation Pakistan bill will be presented alongside another seeking the establishment of a National Forensics Agency.
Transforming the existing National Forensics Agency Project into the National Forensics Agency, the bill will be presented by the Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi, which has already been approved in the Senate.
Another bill slated to be introduced by the interior minister along with the abovementioned bills is the Pakistan Land Port Authority bill.
The National Forensics Agency will provide services to the forensics agencies associated at both the federal and provincial scales, with provinces also including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
