The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoIT&T), in collaboration with Huawei Technologies Pakistan, has launched an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Training Portal.
Designed to equip Pakistani youth with advanced ICT skills, the portal acts as a bridge, connecting IT graduates with potential employers.
Speaking at the launch event, Minister for IT and Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, said: “We have gathered here to celebrate the launch of Huawei's Pakistan ICT Training Portal, a groundbreaking programme designed to empower students across Pakistan with advanced ICT skills.”
“This programme seeks to enhance digital literacy and prepare the youth for the challenges of the modern digital landscape," she added.
The minister further highlighted Huawei's contributions towards achieving a digital Pakistan, noting that the initiative aims to provide young people with valuable internship opportunities and hands-on experience in cutting-edge technologies.
Advanced training modules and workforce development
The ICT Training Portal offers interactive and engaging learning opportunities, covering modules on emerging ICT trends such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, cyber security, and data analytics.
This initiative seeks to create a skilled workforce that will contribute to Pakistan’s economic growth and technological progress by leveraging extensive training resources and global expertise.
Previously, Huawei launched a similar programme targeting the training of 300,000 young Pakistanis in advanced ICT skills.
