
While the country has not been released from the shackles of the so-far-unaddressed internet slowdown, mobile phone services across the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been suspended.
The mobile phone service has reportedly been deterred in accordance with a government-backed decision.

According to those in authority as well as reports circulating on the internet, the digital interruption has engulfed both mobile calls and internet data services, a measure Pakistani government has taken to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.

Fortunately, broadband internet and landline services remained intact and are functioning as usual in the aforementioned cities.
Gujar Khan, Hasan Abdal, Taxila, Kalra Syedan and a few more areas in the close vicinity of Islamabad and Rawalpindi also reported disrupted mobile phone services.
Moreover, the government has advised the private sector to follow remote work modules, while commercial centres are likely to remain shut until further unspecified duration.
