The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) on Tuesday begun offering identity documentation and Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) renewal services through selected e-Sahulat franchises in Pakistan.

Nadra spokesperson Shabahat Ali Syed — responding to the queries about the range of services available and the locations where these facilities can be accessed — stated that while registrations of marriages, divorces, births and deaths are increasing, public reporting of these events remains comparatively low.

To resolve this issue, Nadra has agreed with Radio Pakistan to raise awareness about the importance of timely registration of life events.

Nadra has introduced e-Sahulat services at select shops in specific localities. However, Syed clarified that personal data amendements will not be available at these outlets.

These mini centres, located in neighbourhoods and marketplaces, will allow citizens to obtain their identity cards more quickly through e-Sahulat franchises, easing the burden on existing NADRA facilities.

A day earlier, Nadra announced the procedure to change your current or permanent address on your CNIC, as Nadra has made it very simple for citizens in Pakistan. Gadinsider brings you a detailed guide on how to change your address on CNIC without hassle.
