The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) on Thursday announced plans to shut down its Pak-ID website and launch a mobile app to offer its services.
Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi announced this change during a workshop, stating that the website will be closed on January 17.
The upcoming mobile app will make it easier for citizens, especially overseas Pakistanis, to access NADRA services, as reported by Geo News.

The new mobile app offers a range of services, including CNIC, NICOP, POC, B-Form, and Family Registration Certificates (FRC). “Citizens can now complete all procedures for identity documents from home using the mobile app,” Naqvi stated.
The shift follows complaints about the website, including difficulties scanning and uploading documents. Naqvi pointed out that fraudsters exploited these issues.
“Fraudsters were running businesses to assist in obtaining identity documents through fake websites. They attempted to misuse citizens' personal information,” he revealed. “NADRA, in collaboration with other institutions, is ensuring action against these elements.”
To further enhance service delivery, NADRA will establish three new regional offices in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
“These offices will become operational by March 31,” Naqvi confirmed. He also assured that NADRA offices would also be established in the remaining 19 tehsils across Pakistan.
Furthermore, in a relevant initiative, 24-hour passport counters were recently set up at NADRA Mega Centres in Karachi to make services more convenient for the public.
