
The Establishment Division of Pakistan has notified new timings for federal government offices during the holy month of Ramadan, which is set to begin on Sunday (March 2).
The revised timings aim to facilitate public sector employees' spiritual obligations while maintaining seamless work operations.
During Ramadan, the government offices will function on five and six days a week, as per their designated working days.
Ramadan office timings for five-day work week
As per the notification, the government offices operating on a five-day work week will follow the following schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00am to 3:00pm
- Friday: 9:00am to 12:30pm
Ramadan office timings for six-day work week
However, Ramadan office timings for offices that function six days a week, will be as follows:
- Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 9:00am to 2:00pm
- Friday: 9:00am to 12:30pm
These revised timings align with the government's dedication to balancing professional responsibilities and religious observances. The adjustments will remain in effect throughout the holy month.
Notably, many Muslim countries worldwide, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia implement reduced working hours to support their employees during Ramadan.
