The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant price cut in the rates of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in Pakistan ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

Effective from today (March 1, 2025), the LPG rates have been reduced by Rs6.15 to Rs247.82/kilogram.

These revised prices reflect current market trends and aim to ensure the sustainability of the LPG industry.

LPG prices in Pakistan

As per the OGRA notification issued on Friday, an 11.8kg domestic LPG cylinder will now be available for Rs2,924, a Rs72.57 drop from Rs2,997 in the previous month.

On the other hand, a 45.4-kg commercial LPG cylinder is now priced at Rs11,300, down Rs280 compared to last month.

The updated prices will apply to all LPG consumers in Pakistan. It should be noted that in February, the LPG prices were increased by Rs3.68/kg.

Notably, the decrease in LPG consumer prices is due to a 3.18% drop in Saudi Aramco-CP and a slight 0.21% increase in the average dollar exchange rate.

However, despite this price cut, LPG is still being sold at inflated rates in areas such as Islamabad, exceeding Rs.350/kilogram.
