Prepare for the arrival of the OnePlus Ace 3, the anticipated successor to the OnePlus Ace 2, set to make its debut in China on January 4. This upcoming phone will arrive in three distinct colour variations. The global launch of the device, known as the OnePlus 12R, is scheduled for January 23, including its release in India. 

OnePlus has been teasing several essential specifications of the impending handset through microblogging site posts, showcasing details about bezel size, display features, privacy protection, operating system, and more.

OnePlus Ace 3 specs

In a recent Weibo post, OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus Ace 3 will benefit from three years of Android updates and four years of security updates. Furthermore, the phone's display is expected to boast Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It has been confirmed to support Wi-Fi 7, IR blaster, and NFC connectivity.

Another post on the platform provides insights into the OnePlus Ace 3's design, highlighting incredibly slim bezels with side bezels measuring 1.36mm and a slightly thicker chin at 1.94mm. The device's panel will offer a refresh rate of up to 120Hz while extending support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Previously revealed details from OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus Ace 3 will flaunt a 6.78-inch BOE Oriental display boasting a resolution of 1.5K (2,780 x 1,264 pixels), a peak brightness level of up to 4,500 nits, and a manual brightness of 800 nits. In auto mode, the panel aims to achieve a brightness of 1,600 nits and has secured an A+ rating from DisplayMate.

OnePlus Ace 3 colours

The OnePlus Ace 3 will be available in black, blue, and gold colour variants, featuring a metallic middle frame and a frosted glass panel at the back. The device is equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner for enhanced security. OnePlus also confirmed that the phone will launch alongside the OnePlus Buds 3 TWS earbuds, which will be available in Clear Sea Blue and Space Grey.

Anticipated to be fueled by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, the OnePlus Ace 3 is speculated to sport a dual rear camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support and an 8-megapixel sensor housing an ultra-wide-angle lens. The front camera is expected to be equipped with a 16-megapixel sensor. Moreover, the phone is said to house a 5,500mAh battery supported by 100W wired fast charging.
