Oppo is gearing up to launch its Find X8 series, including the vanilla Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro alongside an Android tablet, Oppo Pad 3 Pro, on October 24 in China.
The upcoming Find X8 series will likely feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, a new design, and camera upgrades compared to the Find X7 series. However, the handset is also set to include a camera shutter button similar to Apple’s “Camera Control” feature on iPhone 16, as per reports.
Here’s how Oppo Find X8 camera button could work
Citing Oppo product manager Zhou Yibao’s Weibo post, Android Authority reported that the company is adding a new pressure-sensitive camera shutter button. The new shutter button will allow users to double-tap to quickly launch the camera app and capture photos without pressing hard.

Additionally, users can also swipe on the button to zoom in or out, functioning similarly to the Camera Control button recently introduced to the iPhone 16 series.
To be noted, it’s not a button but rather a pressure-sensitive strip on the side of the device that will function as a button.
Although it sounds familiar it’s not confirmed that Oppo is copying Apple’s Camera Control feature as there is a slight chance this new shutter button feature on Find X8 would have been in development for some time before Cupertino-based tech giant’s announcement.
