The federal government has announced the establishment of dedicated immigration counters for foreign passengers at all international airports in Pakistan.
With the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, this project will be completed, providing ease to foreigners traveling to Pakistan.
According to the PM Office Media Wing, the initiative aims to encourage tourism, ensure smooth business travel, and facilitate foreign investment.
According to the officials, the dedicated counters will facilitate reducing immigration processing times, making travel more convenient for international visitors.
Moreover, the arrangement is expected to shorten procedures for returning Pakistani citizens, as passenger flows will be separated.
An official stated: “This measure is part of the government’s broader strategy to make Pakistan more attractive and welcoming for international tourists, investors and business delegations.”
It is worth noting that the federal government has recently stepped up efforts to advance infrastructure and streamline travel procedures to position Pakistan as a more competitive destination in the region.
The government has yet to announce a date for launch, and the implementation will occur in phases, starting with airports in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi.
Previously, in February, Pakistan won the Best Partner Pavilion Award at the New York Travel and Adventure Show 2025.
