The Olympic Games are being held in France for the first time in a century, and Paris is embracing the return of the Olympic flame with a unique urban vibe.

Skateboarding and sport climbing, which debuted in Tokyo, will make a comeback, and breaking (commonly known as breakdancing) will feature in the Olympic program for the first time. While Paris will be the main hub of the event, competitions will also take place in 17 cities, including Marseille, Lyon, Lille, and the surfing haven of Taiarapu-Ouest in Tahiti, French Polynesia.

The opening ceremony on Friday, July 26 will be held at Jardins du Trocadéro near the Eiffel Tower, and the closing ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, August 11 at the Stade de France.
