The federal government is reportedly gearing up to announce aN increase of Rs4 to Rs4.50 per litre in petrol price. If this rumour comes true, new petrol price will be at Rs260.13 compared to current Rs256.13.

On the other hand, diesel prices may experience a slight decrease of less than a rupee per litre from March 1, 2025. These adjustments are primarily impacted by global market fluctuations and exchange rate shifts.

The projected hike in petrol prices is attributed to a moderate increase in international fuel rates coupled with a weaker exchange rate against the dollar.

According to the sources, the final decision on these price changes will be made just before the next fortnight begins.

In addition to petrol and diesel, other fuels may also experience price hikes. However, no official updates have been provided regarding the prices of kerosene and light diesel oil (LDO).

These anticipated fuel price adjustments will majorly affect consumers across Pakistan as authorities strive to manage the effects of fluctuating international oil prices.
