Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has confirmed that it will be reducing its flight operations to Paris, as reported by sources on Monday. The airline will cease its Lahore-Paris route, while the airline's Islamabad-to-Paris route will continue to operate unchanged, said the PIA representative.

Sources stated that the last Paris to Lahore flight will occur on September 12 and the last Lahore to Paris flight will occur on September 17.

PIA started twice-a-week flights from Lahore to Paris on June 18 to better connect travellers to Punjab.

The airline is now restructuring its international network, as the airline cannot scale up its services as it does not have a reasonable number of aircraft available. Sources stated that out of the PIA's 12 Boeing 777 aircraft, seven are inactive, which disadvantages its long-haul operations.

Moreover, the spokesperson also reassured that the Islamabad to Paris route was operational to allow travellers from Pakistan to France to have an alternative.

PIA's discontinuation of its Lahore to Paris route comes as the airline wants to better manage its resources and maintain its profitability on its vital international routes.
