In a significant step to expand flight services, the Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) has announced plans to build a new airport in Faisalabad, inviting companies to submit offers for its design, master plan, and feasibility study.
PAA revealed that applications have been called till October 12, 2025 and must be submitted to the “Planning Directorate.”
According to official details, the process aims to finalise a comprehensive master plan and feasibility report before construction begins of a new international airport at Faisalabad.
The authority has directed all interested firms to submit their applications before the deadline ends.
As per the prime minister's instructions, measures were implemented to strengthen and modernise Pakistan's immigration infrastructure.
At Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, new immigration counters have been set up to assist foreign passengers, reduce clearance delays and create a smoother travel experience.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the move will facilitate foreign investors, business groups and tourists.
The initiative is also designed to increase trade and foreign investment while making the process easier for overseas Pakistanis returning home.
Earlier this month, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced that it will launch direct flights to Barcelona and Milan as part of its post-reopening expansion into European destinations.
The move comes after the resumption of PIA’s European operations, which had been suspended for several years.
