The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will remain closed on December 25, 2025, due to an official public holiday, according to an official release issued by the SBP on Monday.

According to an official circular, all departments and offices of the SBP will be closing down for the day.

The public holiday is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. In addition, December 25 is also observed as Christmas Day. Government institutions, schools, and some other private entities may also remain shut.

Although the notification is for the central bank, banks generally function on the holiday calendar announced by the government. Customers are advised to check with their banks individually regarding the opening of branches and online services on the holiday.
