On achieving the milestone of 200 million telecom subscribers, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has rolled out a special one-day package for users.
All telecom subscribers will receive 2 GB of free data and 200 on-net minutes, valid for 24 hours, on June 20, 2025.
Pakistan has crossed a significant milestone in its digital journey, with total mobile subscriptions surpassing the 200 million mark.
As per the latest PTA statistics, the number of mobile phone subscribers has crossed 197.7 million, with 80.30% of the country’s population now having access to mobile services.
Broadband subscriptions have reached 150 million, while fixed-line telephone users stand at 3.75 million.
How can users activate PTA’s offer
Users can activate this offer by dialling *2200# from any network.
To commemorate the achievement, a special ceremony is being organised at the PTA Headquarters in Islamabad.
The event will bring together key stakeholders from the telecom industry, including mobile network operators (MNOs), mobile device manufacturers (MDMs), and senior officials.
Discussions will focus on progress in connectivity and future strategies to expand digital services in Pakistan.
As part of the celebrations, PTA and its partners are unleashing several public-focused initiatives. Mobile network operators will provide free voice and data bundles to users nationwide on the day of the event.
To further digital inclusion, especially for female students, PTA — alongside PTCL, Transworld, Nayatel, Cybernet, and Wateen — are deploying free Wi-Fi hotspots for 6-month at HEC-recognised selected universities including women universities to empower students through improved access to digital resources.
