Capcom has announced Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth main title in the Resident Evil series, famous for its survival horror gameplay.
Capcom promises scary thrills will abound in the new entry, which is scheduled to launch on February 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Resident Evil Requiem release confirmed for 2026
The announcement followed a clever, confusing trailer that first showed an office setting, pending some kind of horror twist.
Interestingly, the trailer then devised blood-composed zombies, creepy childhood threats, and creepy creepy centipedes but ultimately announced what we all hoped it would, a new Resident Evil game.
Capcom describes Requiem as a survival horror title where players have to "escape death in a heart-stopping experience that will leave chills down to your very core."
Details are scarce, but Resident Evil Requiem is a direct follow-up to 2021's Resident Evil Village, which was a continuation of the series' return to its roots of survival horror, first started by Resident Evil 7 and other games.
Capcom has also been busy with remakes of the older titles on newer systems. Including the well-received Resident Evil 4 remake in 2023.
