Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, has recently made a groundbreaking move by extending its Self-Repair Program to include its foldable phone lineup for the first time. This initiative empowers users to independently address issues with their Galaxy Z smartphones.
In a notable development, Samsung is broadening the accessibility of its streamlined repair program to encompass 30 European countries. This expansion encompasses not only smartphones but also tablets and computers within the Samsung Galaxy product line.
User-friendly process
Users participating in the Self-Repair Program will have the advantage of not only fixing their devices but also retaining the essential repair tools provided by Samsung. This unique feature enables users to tackle future repairs without the need for additional tools or resources.
Samsung's commitment to self-repair extends to its latest devices. The company has announced the inclusion of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 in the program.
Moreover, additional devices scheduled for inclusion this month comprise the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup, the Galaxy A05s, and the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro series.
Samsung's self-repair program evolution
Originally introduced last year with availability limited to a few countries, the Self-Repair Program has now evolved significantly. Initially accessible in the US, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, and nine European countries, Samsung has expanded its reach to include an additional 30 European nations.
Notable additions to the program's accessibility list include Finland, Greece, Ireland, Denmark, Portugal, and Switzerland.
As part of the program, users gain the capability to repair specific components of their Samsung devices. Repairable elements include the screen, rear glass panel, speakers, charging ports, volume key, and power button. Samsung ensures that users receive original repair parts for these components.
Extended benefits for Galaxy Book users
The Self-Repair Program is not limited to smartphones; it also encompasses Samsung Galaxy Book laptops. Users can replace and repair various components, including the battery, screen, laptop case, speakers, fan, power key with fingerprint scanner, and touchpad.
Like with smartphones, users are permitted to keep the tools necessary for these repairs, enhancing the overall convenience and user-friendly nature of the program.
