Samsung Galaxy A16 5G debuts in India with MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset

Samsung Galaxy A16 5G was unveiled in India on Friday (October 18). Samsung’s mid-range smartphone comes with six OS upgrades and six years of security updates.  

Samsung Galaxy A16 5G specs

The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G sports a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for streaming graphically demanding content. The handset is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset while packing 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage.

The device packs a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging support that can deliver up to 2.5 days of playback time on a single charge. 

Samsung offers the Knox Vault security feature on the Galaxy A16 5G, including auto blocker, secure folder, private share, and pin app. It also includes Samsung Wallet with the “Tap and Pay” feature powered by NFC (Near Field Communication).

Under the camera belt, the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G houses a triple rear camera unit, including a 50MP primary camera, a 5MP ultra wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. However, for selfies and video-calling, the Galaxy A16 5G features a 13MP selfie camera.

The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G comes in Blue, Black, Gold, and Light Green colours. It will go on sale through Samsung’s official site, Amazon, and Flipkart.

The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is available at INR 18,999, whereas the 8GB RAM plus 256GB storage trim costs INR 20,999.
