As the internet has been buzzing for the much-awaited debut of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, a recent report has shed light on the chipset powering the next-generation Galaxy S series.

With its official launch likely in January 2026, leaks suggested that Samsung is expected to offer its in-house Exynos chips inside the upcoming Galaxy S26.

It's worth noting that this will be done in select regions.

Citing tech tipster Jukanlosreve, Android Police reported that the Galaxy S26 models will feature the new Exynos 2600 chipset, developed using a 2nm fabrication process, in Europe.

If the rumour has anything to go by, this would mark a significant upgrade over the Exynos 2500, which was skipped in preference to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for the Galaxy S25 series. The limited availability of Exynos chips is reportedly behind this regional rollout strategy.

For global markets like the US, the Galaxy S26 is expected to continue with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or “Elite 2” processor, maintaining a split similar to previous releases. This suggests Samsung is sticking with its dual-chip strategy—Snapdragon for major markets, and Exynos for others.

In addition to the chipset update, early rumours suggested a major camera upgrade, including a 200MP periscope lens. As with previous flagships, further specifications are likely to surface closer to launch.

If Samsung is to keep up with its usual release schedule, the Galaxy S26 lineup will be launched early in 2026.
