The Sindh government has opened online registration for the Benazir Hari Card, a move aimed at simplifying the provision of financial aid to farmers in the region.
For farmers in Sindh to effortlessly online register in the financial assistance programme, the agriculture department has designed a mobile application and a website.
The online registration portal was inaugurated by Sindh Minister of Agriculture Sardar Muhammad Baksh Mahar during an agricultural fair in Mirpur Mathelo.
The news reported that the minister also inaugurated a new agricultural research institute.
Farmers can now online register for Benazir Hari Card
The initiative has been taken to eliminate the need for over 1.5 million farmers to take physical trips to government offices, allowing them to register for the Benazir Hari Card by simply submitting their documents on the website (www.benazirharicard.gos.pk).
Disclosing plans to establish an agricultural university in Ghotki, the provincial minister noted that aspiring students from other provinces will also seek to study there after its establishment is completed.
Using the Benazir Hari Card, farmers will also be provided with subsidies on seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and modern agricultural machinery, not to mention crop insurance, interest-free loans and several other forms of financial support in case of agricultural disasters.
