Snapdragon Summit 2024 confirmed: Unveiling the next-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Chip

Qualcomm, an American semiconductor company, unveiled the dates of Snapdragon Summit 2024 event , which is likely to take place from October 21 to 23 in Maui, Hawaii. Moreover, it’s confirmed that the company will unveil the next generation of its flagship-grade smartphone processor dubbed Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

In addition, the event’s focus is on artificial intelligence (AI), provided its current update in the smartphone ecosystem. The company has also unveiled chipsets with neural processing units (NPUs) capable of managing AI processing for both mobiles and PCs.

Recently, Qualcomm has uploaded a short teaser that showed the dates and place for the Snapdragon Summit 2024. However, the web is empty and shows no additional information about the event.

It’s intended that the company might release the details soon. Qualcomm’s Chief Marketing Officer Don McGuire previously confirmed the name of the forthcoming smartphone processor, which will be unveiled during the event.

Moreover, McGuire unveiled that the SoC is set to support a custom Oryon CPU, which was earlier released at the Snapdragon Summit 2022. In addition, the CMO also spotlighted that the CPU will be paired with an updated NPU for AI specifications.

Earlier, a report claimed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC might boast LPDDR6 RAM (Low Power Double Data Rate 6 Random Access Memory), which will be the next iteration of RAM technology.

It’s also claimed that the forthcoming smartphone processor will be based on TSMC's 3nm fabrication process and house Qualcomm's FastConnect 7900 connectivity system.

Apparently, the Xiaomi 15 and the Xiaomi 15 Pro are expected to be the first smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. Moreover, the OnePlus 13, iQoo 13, and the Samsung Galaxy S25 series are intended to be powered by the same processor.
