Sony has revealed fresh information on its next-generation gaming console, the PlayStation 5 Pro, revealing how the new model enhances cooling and addresses previous issues with liquid metal leaks.

The PS5 Pro is an enhanced version of the PS5, one of the best-selling gaming consoles globally. It enables gamers to play high-end games with improved graphics, smoother gameplay, and quicker load times.

Sony PS5 Pro upgrades

In its latest teardown video and blog, Sony revealed how it enhanced the cooling system of the PS5 Pro. The company introduced new grooves in the region of the liquid metal to make the system more stable and prevent leakage problems that some PS5 users had complained about.

Notably, the modifications are meant to keep the console cooler for extended gaming periods.

The liquid metal use is not a novelty. Sony first implemented it in the standard PS5 for assistance in managing heat. Though online there were claims that the liquid metal leaked and damaged the console, nothing was ever substantiated to its fullest.

However, as a precaution, to leave nothing to chance, Sony did introduce slight but clever design tweaks in the PS5 Pro.

In addition to this, Sony also enhanced the cooling fan of the PS5 Pro. The fan also features newly designed blades, with smaller blades located between the large ones, to enhance airflow.

Furthermore, the motherboard of the PS5 Pro also conceals additional electrical layers to increase memory speed, which aids the console in executing games at a faster and smoother rate.
