Tata Motors has announced a plan to expand four lakh electric vehicle (EV) charging points by 2027, as a part of their “Open Collaboration 2.0” initiative, reshaping the future of India’s sustainable mobility landscape.

At the core of this initiative is Tata Motors’ EV arm, TATA.ev, which is committed to installing 30,000 public fast chargers across the country. These fast chargers are integral to meeting the escalating requirement for green transportation solutions.

Tata Motors aims to cater to the requirements of EV owners by building a robust and easily accessible charging infrastructure to support long-distance travel.

To make this ambitious vision a reality, Tata Motors has revealed strategic partnerships with charge point operators (CPOs) and oil marketing companies (OMCs). These partnerships will let the auto giant expand its charging network, especially along key highways, ensuring a seamless EV experience across the country.

Notably, the charging stations built under this plan will be compatible with all EV models, fostering a “mutually beneficial ecosystem” that brings together users, industry operators, and infrastructure developers.

Tata Motors’ visionary charging network not only strengthens India’s EV infrastructure but also aligns with the country’s wider environmental and sustainability goals.

By 2027, this initiative is expected to transform the way India approaches electric mobility, creating a cleaner, more sustainable future.
