
At EVO 2024, Bandai Namco, a multi-national publisher of video games, surprised everyone with an announcement that Heihachi Mishima, the iconic antagonist of the Tekken series, was returning to fight in post-launch DLC in Tekken 8.
Since Heihachi Mishima is canonically dead, this has come as a shock to the gaming community.
The teaser trailer hinted towards the new chapter of the story with Heihachi, Eddy, and Lidia, and it shows the ultimate end to the narrative, where two strong forces finally clash in space. ovní video description clearly states that the "story is far from over" and Heihachi is, in fact, very much alive following the events of the last series, Tekken 7.

However, there is another surprise entry of a character whose name is still under wrap, gaming fans are speculating on who it can be, wishing for one to be from their favourite third-party characters like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Tifa or The King of Fighters' Terry Bogard.
Gameplay features
Better graphics: Tekken 8 looks magnificent in terms of the graphics, with detailed character models and environments that could eventually compete with the quality of the preceding games' cinematic.
New gameplay mechanics: A new combat system known as "Rage Arts" introduces stronger attacks that players can perform within the gameplay.
Character roster expanded: Tekken 8 has various characters including, old and new.
Story mode: The story is about the rivalry between the Kazama and Mishima families. The story revolves around Heihachi's return in the current series.
Heihachi will be added as a playable DLC character in autumn 2024 within the Season 1 Pass in Tekken 8, meaning buyers with the pass can experience Heihachi's epic return.
