The popular cross-platfrorm instant messaging platform Telegram is going to introduce "view-once" feature for audio and video messages alongside two other features enabling users to pause and resume recording audio and video messages.

The list of features mentioned above are coming as part of its January releases. The platform already offers users view-once feature, but exclusively in one-on-one chats for photos and videos last year in September. However, this upcoming feature update will let users enjoy a comprehensively controlled and full-of-privacy messaging experience.

The company is now expanding this functionality to include voice and video messages. Users can tap the microphone icon to start recording, and then swipe up to select the "view-once" icon to let the recipient listen to the voice message or view the video message just once.

Moreover, Telegram is also introducing the ability to pause and resume recording for voice and video messages through the same menu.

Another feature that is making its way to Telegram will allow users to see when the recipient read their message in one-on-one private chats. This feature can be turned off in the app settings.

New features for Telegram's premium users

The company is also introducing new features for premium users. Premium users now have the option to hide their read time while still being able to view someone else's read time if it is shared publicly.

Furthermore, premium users can choose who can send them messages first. They can select either "Everyone" or "My Contacts and Premium Users."
