Chinese tech giant Tencent has officially launched its T1 reasoning model, aiming to strengthen its position in the fast-growing AI sector.

The upgraded version offers faster response times and improved text processing, making it a strong competitor in China’s artificial intelligence market.

What is Tencent’s T1 AI model?

T1 is an advanced AI reasoning model designed to process long text documents while keeping the content structured and logical.

According to Tencent, the model has a low hallucination rate, ensuring more accurate responses. It was first introduced as a preview through Tencent’s AI assistant, Yuanbao, and is now available in its official version.

T1 is powered by Tencent’s Turbo S language model, which was released last month. The company claims that Turbo S can process queries faster than DeepSeek’s R1 model, another major AI system in China.

Moreover, a performance comparison chart shared by Tencent suggests that T1 outperforms DeepSeek R1 in several reasoning and knowledge-based tasks.

Tencent has been increasing its AI investments to stay ahead in the competitive market. On Thursday, the company announced plans to boost capital expenditure in 2025, following a year of heavy spending on artificial intelligence research.
