The iQOO Z9 series is set to feature an OLED panel. The midrange Z line from the vivo-owned brand initially used LCD since its launch in mid-2020 but switched to OLED for the iQOO Z7 series. However, it reverted to LCD on the Z8 family.

GSMArena, citing Tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, reported that the upcoming iQOO Z9 series will bring an enhanced 1220p resolution, often referred to as "1.5K" by Chinese manufacturers, positioning it between Full HD and QHD (1440p).
