
Vivo, a Chinese tech giant, has rolled out its new V series smartphones — Vivo V40 Pro and Vivo V40 — in India. They bring updates over the Vivo V30 series and boast 50MP front cameras. The Vivo V40 series carries Zeiss-branded rear cameras.
Vivo V40 Pro, Vivo V40 price
The Vivo V40 Pro is available at INR 49,999 for the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant, whereas the 12GB RAM with 512GB storage version is available at INR 55,999. The smartphone is confirmed to go on sale from August 13.
Meanwhile, the Vivo V40 is set at INR 34,999 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version, whereas the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage versions are available at INR 36,999 and INR 41,999. It is currently offered for pre-booking in Ganges Blue, Lotus Purple, and Titanium Grey colour options and is said to go on sale from August 19.
Vivo V40 Pro, Vivo V40 specs in India
The Vivo V40 Pro and Vivo V40 versions run on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. They have a glass build and sports a 6.78-inch full-HD+ (1,260x2,800 pixels) AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 4,500nits peak brightness.
The Vivo V40 Pro is featured with a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ processor with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Meanwhile, the Vivo V40 runs on a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon7 Gen 3 SoC with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.
The Vivo V40 Pro is offered in two colourways: Ganges Blue and Titanium Grey shades.
Camera setup
The Vivo V40 Pro boasts a Zeiss-branded triple rear camera setup with Aura Light flash, having a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor with autofocus and OIS support, a 50MP wide-angle camera, and another 50MP Sony IMX816 telephoto portrait sensor with 2x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom.

Whereas, the Vivo V40 features a dual rear camera setup co-engineered with Zeiss having a 50MP main camera with OIS and AF and a 50MP wide-angle camera. For selfies, both smartphones feature a 50MP front camera.
Additional features
Connectivity options on the Vivo V40 series integrate 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, Beidou, Galileo, GLONASS, Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C port. Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, gyroscope and proximity sensor.
They flaunt an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication. The Vivo V40 Pro and Vivo V40 are said to have an IP68-rated build for dust and water resistance

The Vivo V40 Pro and V40 boasts a 5,500 mAh battery supporting 80W wired fast charging. The Pro model measures 164.3x75.1x7.5mm and weighs 192g. The standard model measures 164x74.9x7.5mm and weighs 190g.
