Vivo has announced the launch of its flagship X100 and X100 Pro smartphones in Europe, following their debut in China last month. The X100 series features some of the most advanced camera and battery technologies in the market, as well as a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor.

Vivo X100 and X100 Pro: Camera co-engineered with Zeiss

The main selling point of the X100 series is the camera system, which is co-engineered with Zeiss, a renowned German optics company. Both the X100 and X100 Pro have a triple rear camera setup, but with different primary and telephoto lenses.

X100 has a 50-megapixel Sony IMX920 VCS bionic main camera, which Vivo claims can capture more light and detail than conventional sensors. It also has a 64-megapixel Zeiss periscope telephoto camera, which offers 3x optical zoom and up to 30x digital zoom.

X100 Pro, on the other hand, has a 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 1-inch type sensor, which is one of the largest sensors ever used in a smartphone. It also has a 50-megapixel Zeiss APO periscope telephoto camera, which provides 4.3x optical zoom and up to 60x digital zoom.

Both models share a third 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, which has a 114-degree field of view and can also shoot macro photos. The cameras also support various modes and features, such as night mode, portrait mode, pro mode, and Zeiss Biotar portrait style, which adds a distinctive bokeh effect to the photos.

On the front, both phones have a 32-megapixel selfie camera, which is housed in a punch-hole cutout on the top left corner of the screen.

Vivo X100 and X100 Pro: Fast charging and other specs

Another highlight of the X100 series is the fast-charging technology, which can fully charge the phones in less than an hour. The X100 has a 5,000 mAh battery, which supports 120W wired fast charging. The X100 Pro has a slightly larger 5,400 mAh battery, which supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.

Both phones have a 6.78-inch AMOLED 8T LTPO curved display, which has a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. The display also has an in-display fingerprint scanner and supports HDR10+.

The phones are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset, which is a 4nm octa-core processor with a Mali-G79 MC9 GPU. The phones come with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage.

The phones run on Android 14, with Vivo’s custom Funtouch 14 and OriginOS 4 skins on top. The phones also have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, dual-SIM support, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and USB-C port. The phones do not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, but Vivo provides a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box.

Vivo X100 and X100 Pro: Price and availability

The Vivo X100 and X100 Pro will be available in Europe soon. The phones will come in four colour options: Chen Ye Black, Star Trail Blue, Sunset Orange, and White Moonlight.

Vivo may also release a flat-screen version of the X100 series next year, according to some reports.
