WhatsApp has rolled out a new document scanning feature that enables users to scan documents directly within the app.
According to WABetaInfo, this update is currently available with version 24.25.89 of WhatsApp, with some Indian users being the first to access the feature.
Document scanner in WhatsApp
The document scanner eliminates the need for third-party scanning apps or WhatsApp camera features.
Earlier, users had to photograph documents, use a dedicated scanning app, or rely on their phone's camera feature to scan files for sharing.
The document scanner provides a dedicated "Scan document" option when users choose to upload or select documents to send.
This functionality ensures that the image captured is brighter and clearer, making text and signatures more legible.
Other latest WhatsApp updates
In addition to the document scanning feature, WhatsApp is working on several other updates. The platform allows users to manage chat message animations, including emojis, stickers, and GIFs.
Furthermore, WhatsApp is developing a feature that allows users to access human chat support directly via the web client.
Instead of relying on automated systems, this update will enable users to receive real-time help from human representatives.
