Xiaomi, a Chinese tech company, is expected to unveil its next-generation flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 15 Series, including the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro, in the coming months. Specifications for both handsets have surfaced on a Chinese microblogging site.
Xiaomi's smartphones are reportedly set to feature 120Hz displays with peak brightness up to 1,400 nits, alongside Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.
Anticipated specifications for Xiaomi 15
According to tipster Zou Jiachen on Weibo, the standard Xiaomi 15 model will feature a 6.36-inch 1.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,400 nits. It is expected to include a 4,800 or 4,900mAh battery supporting 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The rear camera setup is likely to consist of a 50MP OmniVision OV50H sensor, an ultrawide camera, and a 3x telephoto camera, both featuring Samsung JN1 sensors. For selfies, it may offer a 32MP front camera.
Anticipated specifications for Xiaomi 15 Pro
The Xiaomi 15 Pro is expected to feature a larger 6.73-inch 2K display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and similar to the Xiaomi 15, it will feature an ultrawide camera, a 50MP OmniVision OV50N primary sensor, and an unspecified 3x telephoto camera. It will pack a larger 5,400mAh battery supporting 120W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.
Both models are said to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. Additionally, they are expected to feature Wi-Fi 7 support, dual speakers, an IP68 rating, and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
Expected pricing for Xiaomi 15 Series
According to the tipster, the base configuration of both handsets will start with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Xiaomi 15 is expected to start at around CNY 4,599 (approximately INR 52,000) for this variant, with the top-end 1TB variant speculated to cost around CNY 5,499 (approximately INR 63,000).
The Xiaomi 15 Pro, in its base configuration with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, is anticipated to be priced between CNY 5,299-5,499 (approximately INR 61,000-63,000). The top-end 1TB configuration may cost around CNY 6,499 (approximately INR 75,000). Additionally, there may be a "Titanium Satellite Communication Edition" priced at CNY 6,999 (approximately INR 80,000).
