In a significant development in the tech industry, Xiaomi has directly challenged Apple's iPhone 17 series with the launch of its new flagship series in China: the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max.

In order to demonstrate the Xiaomi 17 series' alleged superiority in terms of battery, performance, photography, and other areas, CEO Lei Jun frequently contrasted its specifications with those of Apple's latest iPhone models.

The Xiaomi 17 series consists of three models, which is similar to Apple's lineup in terms of size and naming scheme.

Xiaomi 17 series specifications

Xiaomi Pro and Pro Max models have a second screen on the back that can be used for a number of purposes, including interactive widgets, music controls, and selfie viewfinders.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset powers the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max, which have sizeable batteries with 6,300 mAh and 7,500 mAh capacities, respectively.

They both support 50W wireless charging and 100W wired charging. With three 50-megapixel cameras on each phone, the cameras are a major component.

A surprisingly large 7,000 mAh battery powers the standard Xiaomi 17, which also features a 6.3-inch display, a similar camera setup, and the same chipset.

Xiaomi 17 series pricing and availability

In China customers can place preorders for the Xiaomi 17 series, which will go on sale on September 27.

The Xiaomi 17 has a starting price of ¥4,499 (approximately $630), the 17 Pro retails for ¥4,999 (approximately $700), and the Pro Max for ¥5,999 (approximately $840).

It is probable that a worldwide release will take place, possibly during the MWC trade show in the spring.
