Xiaomi is currently working on a pair of smart glasses powered by artificial intelligence (AI), according to a report. The purported AI glasses are set to compete with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.

While several other Chinese companies are also entering this market with innovative glasses, this development comes shortly after Baidu’s recently introduced “Xiaodu AI glasses” which will hit the market in early 2025 launch.

The AI glasses have been in the development process for a few months and will likely be launched in the second quarter of 2025 in China.

Xiaomi’s AI glasses will offer AI functionality similar to the one recently integrated in Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and will also feature camera and audio modules, the report suggested.

The report also claimed that according to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, the tech giant will likely ship around 300,000 units of the AI glasses. However, it is unclear whether the device will be launched in markets outside China.

Furthermore, other tech giants such as Oppo, Vivo, Huawei, and ByteDance are also planning to enter the AI glasses market, most likely by late 2025.
