Xiaomi to release first buttonless flagship smartphone next year: Report

Xiaomi is purportedly working on a buttonless smartphone — codenamed Zhuque. While the company remains silent about the plans to release it with an all-screen design. 

The expected buttonless smartphone is claimed to be in the early stages of development and is rumoured to launch in 2025. It is said to be equipped with an under-display selfie camera and is expected to run on a Snapdragon chipset.

Xiaomi working on a Button-less smartphone

Taking to X (formerly recognised as Twitter), tipster Chun Bhai @chunvn8888 in collaboration with Smartprix, leaked information about Xiaomi’s reported flagship buttonless smartphone codenamed “Zhuque.”

This handset might lack physical power and volume buttons and would depend on gestures, pressure-sensitive edges and voice commands for controls.

The Zhuque handset is rumoured to feature an under-display selfie camera. The all-screen phone is claimed to be powered by Qualcomm's unreleased Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 4 SoC. The same chipset codenamed SM8775 is expected to arrive on the Xiaomi 15S Pro that is said to be released next year.

It is claimed to be an improved variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset that is rumoured to debut in October.

Xiaomi has yet to unveil any details about the existence of a buttonless phone and Apple was also tipped to introduce a buttonless design on the iPhone 15 Pro, but the handset arrived with the same physical buttons as its predecessors.
